Experience teaches that if you’re reading this, chances are you’re seeking to improve the quality of your life from either of the following situations:
- You’re in the pits and things are lousy, possibly to the point where they couldn’t possibly get any worse…
- You seem to be on the top of the world, where everything you thought would make you happy has happened, but for some reason you still don’t feel happy… and so you’ve set out to discover what would make you happy…
- You seem to have your life handled in some areas, while others remain lousy and loathsome and/or still have significant room for improvement…
Notice that in either of these scenarios, your decision to learn how to consciously exploit your ‘powers of manifestation’ is a reactive one. The underlying motivation is that something isn’t right, and you want to fix it.
Of course, the urge to fix something that doesn’t feel comfortable is a completely logical, understandable, and typically human one. But in light of the concept of ‘implicit intent’ that was introduced in the previous article, this type of motivation can easily become the very reason for your lack of results.
This article will give you some perspective on why that is, plus it will suggest a fairly simple strategy to transcend this predicament… which, because of its simplicity and universal and timeless applicability, could very well be called ‘the greatest advice of all time.’
So let’s dig in…
Quick Recap: ‘Implicit Intent’ Revisited
As you’ll learn in any of my material, the process of ‘creation’ and ‘manifestation’ takes place predominantly through the connection you have to an unmanifest, enfolded, metaphysical level of reality (the realm of ‘potential’, ‘possibility’ and ‘probability’)… beyond the manifest, unfolded, actualized reality we perceive through our five senses (the realm of already actualized ‘physical building blocks’).
That’s where any really significant difference in the nature of your reality is made.
Explicit actions taken within the realm of the ‘physical’ don’t make a direct impression on that metaphysical level. If they make an impression on that level at all, it’s only indirectly through your motivations and attitudes behind those actions.
Of course, explicit actions are still very important in turning ‘potential’ into something real, or in rearranging already existing ‘building blocks.’ But making a deliberate impression on the metaphysical plane (which ‘physical’ reality will gradually adjust itself to) requires a different kind of routine.
To do so, you generally learn a variety of explicit practices, such as positive affirmations, visualizations, and so on… even many forms of prayer of various traditions are designed with this aim in mind. In addition, you’re generally told to add some positive emotion to the mix, as without it, your power field broadcast is incoherent.
Basically, such techniques are all simplified ways to clarify and organize your thought and feeling, in order to give your intent a clear focus. This way, they do have their place in the bigger picture of the manifesting process.
While they’re essentially ‘explicit,’ if performed well and given the utmost of your heart and spirit, such methods raise your levels of energy, feed your inner fire, and create a tremendous, powerful bond with the metaphysical level of reality… impressed with the idea that whatever vision you have, will manifest through the effort of your explicit practices.
That’s all fine and swell, but here’s what’s absolutely crucial to realize:
- Once you’re finished with your explicit practices, this connection doesn’t just disappear or disengage. You don’t suddenly let go of it. In fact, your bond with the metaphysical plane stays and remains all the time… by default.
- This means that the ‘manifestation process’ continues, even while you’re no longer performing your explicit practices.
And that’s exactly why being aware of and consciously steering what the previous article referred to as your ‘implicit intent’ is so crucial:
The consistent impression you make on the metaphysical plane is shaped by your ‘implicit intent.’ And this happens during your explicit practices, but also during the times that you’re no longer actively engaging in them (which is generally by far most of the time).
And this is exactly where things can go awry regardless of your best intentions…
Let me explain how…
How We Tend To Cancel Out Our Own Efforts
Defining and ‘broadcasting’ a pure vision of what you want to manifest puts you in ‘creative mode’ (another concept that’s explained in this article). In order to get yourself and stay in ‘creative mode,’ your vision has to be pure, meaning it doesn’t originate in an aversion to a current situation, and that you’re not attached to any specific way in which you think it’s supposed to come about. If there is, you’re generally in ‘reactive mode.’
Now, if after your explicit practices you could keep yourself in this ‘creative mode’ (assuming you even were during them), then it’s likely that whatever you envisioned ultimately does manifest in reality… albeit usually through different routes than you initially imagined, as you only have a say in what you want to manifest, not in the how.
Still, it can take time for the metaphysical levels of reality to adjust to the vision you’ve been impressing…
So because of this delay, as soon as you finish your explicit practices, the initial ‘problem situation’ will still be there. And that’s where the most widely-occurring failure in the manifesting process usually kicks in:
- Explicit practices that do ultimately produce results are of the type that goes out from a state of knowing that the associated vision will come to pass (be it in due time). It’s not a matter of believing… It’s a matter of knowing. The less doubt you have about it, the greater your certainty, the more coherent your power field, the stronger your imprint.
- Assuming their motivation is purely creative, most people have no problem believing/ knowing their vision will come to pass during their explicit practices.
But the biggest failure in actually allowing their vision to manifest, is that after they finished their exercises, tricks, and word games, they start distorting and canceling out their own efforts. Here’s how: - Usually, they quickly begin to evaluate the reality around them to see whether their vision has come to pass yet (<– or phrased more accurately: whether their problem has been resolved yet). Put differently, they quickly put themselves back into an implicit focus on the initial problem situation.
- As a consequence, implicitly, most people quickly go back to the same state they were in before they started their practices. The desperation that led them to starting the whole process in the first place seeps back in, particularly if they don’t notice (nearly) immediate change. Then along with it come the worries and fears associated with the problem, and before long they’re back in ‘reactive mode.’
This leads them to getting absorbed in the problem again, and often brings them to a point where they forget that they put out an intention in the first place.
As such, they’ve never even given ‘reality’ a chance to adjust to it. The metaphysical impression of their vision gets distorted before even getting close to being realized, and now they’re effectively back to square one.
So the real problem is that on top of the sincerity of their desire to produce the results they envision, they heap all their negativity and allow their fears and worries to ride all over what they sent out in the first place.
Make no mistake: you really do have far-reaching powers to create your own reality. But your endeavors will yield little desired result if you just use them as some kind of last-ditch effort in reaction to a problem, in an attempt to bargain with the universe after all other avenues have been exhausted.
Such an attitude carries no power whatsoever. You’re effectively reaching for any last thing you can try and might be able to do to turn the odds back in your favor.
As such, you let the power of imbalanced emotion around your initial problem situation overcome the power of your vision, often without ever realizing that you’re canceling out the original, genuine, creative energies of your explicit practices.
And then you rant and rave at life because the end result is a (re-)manifestation of your problem state… i.e. your implicit intent. That’s the problem with ‘reactive mode:’ what you think “inspires” you, is often simultaneously the greatest weakness in your process.
That’s why you need to make a crucial switch:
The Switch From ‘Reactive’ To ‘Creative’
The constant, subtle connection to the energy around us (i.e. at a metaphysical level) is the most powerful ‘tool’ that any of us have. But for your reality to (gradually) adjust to the vision you ‘metaphysically’ impress, your power field must have a consistent, creative focus… one that’s pure to start with (i.e. no attachments and/or aversions) and doesn’t get distorted along the way.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record:
This requires a significant degree of conscious control of your ‘implicit intent’ in order to keep it pure and consistent. And in turn, this requires a consistent, conscious practice to cultivate it in such a way that it does in fact become conducive to actualizing your ‘explicit intent.’
For that, a vision that merely reactively springs from a perceived problem (i.e. where your definition of success effectively limits itself to ‘no longer having any problems’) doesn’t cut it. That way, your implicit focus will always be on those very ‘problems,’ because you’ll keep checking whether they’re still there or have been resolved yet.
Instead, you need an unattached, creative vision… which begs the question that we asked before, but often turns out to be the toughest one to truthfully answer for most people:
“What do you REALLY want?”
The key to answering that question is what American physicist, philosopher, and management expert Danah Zohar calls ‘spiritual intelligence.’
Spiritual Intelligence
According to Zohar, ‘spiritual intelligence’ is about your own, personal, deeper actuating motives. Principles like ‘purpose’ and ‘meaning’ are central to that, and make up your own ‘inner universe.’
When you’re genuinely in touch with your own ‘inner universe,’ you can develop your talents and give full scope to your natural gifts. As such, you’ll live the life that fully matches who you are (<– which isn’t necessarily the life that others think you’re supposed to live).
And in the process, you continually discover new things about what really drives, inspires, and animates you… which could be something completely different than what you’ve been led to believe and/or have been thinking all your life.
In other words: it’s all about the authentic YOU. And that might actually be someone you still need to get to know.
Zohar says that when you manage to live your life from that inspiration, the implicit result is that you’re quite a happy and fulfilled person. No explicit practices are required for that.
There’s no need to make yourself happy and grateful (although that can still be useful…). Rather, that would be an automatic, natural result, a side effect of sorts of being and/or becoming the authentic you.
Thus, ‘spiritual intelligence’ is really about self-reflection and intuition. And in this context, there’s also a big difference between ‘spiritual intelligence’ and what many consider ‘being spiritual:’
- You can do reiki, qigong, meditation, burn incense, play with your Ouija-board and your pendulum, collect crystals, become a vegetarian, practice Wicca, wear birckenstocks, do exotic rain dances in wildlife outfits, read books about ‘spirituality’ and repeat affirmations all day and night. And of course that’s all fine if that makes you feel good.
- But ‘spiritual intelligence’ really refers to making the choices that suit you, and to actually consciously experience the satisfaction and feelings of genuine fulfillment and self-realization that come with that.
This is pretty much in line with what the famous American psychologist Abraham Maslow (who came up with the famous ‘hierarchy of needs’ that’s designed to explain human motivation) called ‘self-actualization’.
According to Maslow, self-actualization is the ultimate state of human development (<– there’s a little more to it than that, but we’ll go deeper into that in upcoming material…), a spiritual condition in which people are purely creative, ‘playful’, and tolerant.
These are the very conditions that facilitate the extent to which the vision you’ve decided to impress on the metaphysical levels of reality remains, or at the very least doesn’t get distorted, and likely even gets reinforced.
And guess what:
There’s a specific group of people that can teach us a lot about this state of ‘pure creativity,’ ‘playfulness’ and ‘tolerance:’
Young children!
In the context of this article’s topic, young kids, as long as they’re pure, are pretty much a paragon of spiritual intelligence.
Of course, by that I’m not saying that we should all start behaving in childish and infantile ways. Instead, what I’m saying is that we can start to make a conscious effort to look at the world more like children do.
We could start to re-invent and re-discover the qualities that we so often lose in the process of what’s called ‘growing up’ and ‘becoming adults’. Those qualities are:
- Being open;
- Trust;
- Sincerity;
- Being genuine;
- Curiosity;
- Eagerness to learn;
- Generosity;
- Feeling adventurous;
- Wonder and astonishment at the smallest of things…
- And not to forget: unconditional love.
A state characterized by these criteria implies being free from any emotional attachments or aversions. And from there you can continuously form (perhaps gradually discover and/or develop) a genuine vision that’s really your true, authentic, undistorted image of ‘success’ (as touched upon in this article).
And this brings us to what could very well be seen as “the greatest advice of all time”…
The Greatest Advice Of All Time
Remember it always:
** REMAIN CHILDLIKE! **
Again, not childish or infantile, but childlike.

Retain a playful attitude both to life and whatever visions you have for it.
In simple, practical terms, this could be described as follows:
- Be open.
Be adventurous. Be curious and eager to learn. Acknowledge the wonder of life and the amazing experience it brings. Discovery in life is just as important as creation. - Be genuine and tolerant… to life itself, to yourself, and to other people.
As for life itself: things often don’t come in the way you envisioned or hoped, and your greatest opportunities are often disguised as your biggest ‘problems’ or ‘challenges.’ Allow things to come as they do, and don’t get distracted. You have a lot to say about the what, but little about the how. So stick to your vision.
As for yourself: Don’t try to live up to externally imposed images of who or what you should be if they’re not in line with your own deeper actuating motives and values. If you do, you set yourself up for a consistent sense of struggle and lack of fulfillment.
As for other people: instead of judging them, be curious and interested in their deeper motivations and drives. In doing so, you’ll implicitly do the same for yourself. And as you allow other people to be their unique self, you’ll implicitly make it easier for yourself to be your unique, authentic self. - Be generous.
By that, I particularly mean generous with your natural talents, strengths, and gifts. In doing so, you’ll enjoy yourself, and might very well be able to add value to other people in one way or the other.
As a result, your implicit intent will remain clear around your explicit vision, and is characterized by…:
- Freedom from emotional attachments and/or aversions:
Your vision becomes a mere playful desire, not the one pivot point on which all your contentment and fulfillment life hinges. All is well already, regardless of whether you manifest your explicit vision or not. So no need to constantly evaluate if it has already come to pass.
This way, you won’t cancel out your own intent. And the big paradox is that this will actually increase the chances of it materializing. (Go figure…) - Flexibility:
Discovery in life is just as important as creation. Everything in life is in flux. So are you. You may want something different tomorrow than you want today.
Again, it’s good to have a vision and stick to it in order to retain a significant degree of focus. But just like you as a person, your visions may evolve. Don’t try to stop that flow. Go with it.
This is why it’s so important to remain in ‘creative mode’ in order to keep out of ‘reactive mode’ (see this article):
- A ‘reactive vision’ is fleeting, easily swayed by the ever-changing emotional currents of your own personal world and conditioned values and beliefs. Your focus will tend to fly from one thing to the next.
- A ‘creative vision’ is pure and tends to remain, or “at worst,” develop. As such, it gives you consistent (implicit) focus.
Your fears, doubts of worthiness, negative thoughts and emotions, these are the things that muddy the waters of our own clarity. Through a conscious practice to remain childlike, you remove these from the mix, and your connection and impact on reality becomes increasingly more evident.
From there, you can really start to consciously exploit your power of manifestation for any genuine goal or vision you get in mind, and it will begin to feel more and more natural.
So in closing, only one question remains…
How To Practice This?
I’m assuming you have a creative vision that’s pure and didn’t merely spin from a reactive motivation. Otherwise, come up with one. Be a kid again: playfully fantasize. What would be a cool experience (taking your problems and issues completely out of the equation for the moment)?
Now to deliberately remain a ‘childlike’ atmosphere around whatever ‘creative vision’ that is, you can keep asking yourself a few simple questions on a continuous basis, all starting with the powerful word ‘how:’
- “How can I be more open?”
For example: make conscious effort to notice all the various, subtle ways in which opportunities come on your path, which may be different than how you thought things could happen yourself… Acknowledge (“hey, that’s cool!”) and appreciate them (“I’m so happy and grateful for this!”). - “How can I be more trusting?”
For example: how can you get yourself out of the way and allow ‘life’ to open up doors that you may not be able to conceive of right now? - “How can I be more sincere and genuine to myself, and generous of myself?”
For example: can you think of ways to express and exploit your natural talents and strengths… not necessarily with the direct aim to directly contribute to actualizing your vision, but more so for the mere sake of doing it just so you’ll implicitly stay in ‘creative mode?’
Then implement whatever answers you come up with.
You’ll stay in creative mode, and your vision will remain, consistently. Even if it does get adjusted over time, it will only be a non-distorting development into something greater and more appropriate for you… not a U-turn into something completely different, just because a new problem has risen in urgency.
(Yes, that problem will still require your attention… Don’t ignore it, do what’s necessary right now. But that doesn’t mean you have to adjust your vision, provided that your vision was pure and creative, not reactive. If it’s a purely creative one, you can still stick to it regardless of your current circumstances.)
Keep up this ‘childlike’ attitude around your vision, and before long, amazing things will begin to happen. Under these conditions, the famous line becomes relevant:
“Be careful what you ask for, because you might get it…”
Doors will start opening up in life that you couldn’t even fathom. And when such opportunities present themselves, that’s when you acknowledge them and take explicit actions to actualize them. (Just keep an eye out so you’ll actually notice them…) And that’s how life becomes an exhilarating journey.
To conclude with another famous line capturing what could be “the greatest advice of all time:”
“And a little child shall lead them…”

if just ride and enjoy yourself, then what is about deliberately creation?

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I left my job 6 months ago following the inner path. I knew that I had to listen and overcome my fear. I have been seeing “miracles”, “signs”, and “wonders”, if you will. I have enjoyed being with myself and getting to know “me”. I am as a child, and I continue to thank “god” for meeting my needs. When I ask for work, the phone rings and I find an odd job to do. I can’t say enough about this “illusion” and what is behind it:FEAR. Fear is an ILLUSION! IT’S A JOKE!! If I don’t go within, I go without And I never get to see the Truth about who I AM. Fear is the proverbial “devil”. It steals joy and peace and every good thing that is ours if we can only deeply and fully believe it to be so. WHAT AN AMAZING JOURNEY, THIS DREAM, and for this, I am beyond grateful! The experience is beyond any words. ~peace
I am so happy for all of you who realize who we realy are
Marry Christimas with much love.
Maria
After the life I’ve lived all these years , this have made me think a little deeper about life its self
The first step in returning to our childs mind is remembering how to day dream and believing that these dreams can come true. Imagination is the key to the doorway back to a youthful mind. The sad thing is that imagination and day dreaming is the first thing that adults try to pound out of our minds so that we can become responsible adults. Remember Peter Pan never grew old as long as he believed in Fantasy land where any dream could come true.
THank you Henk to remind me to remain childlike,
With gratitude and love;
Hendra
I found this very straight foreward and simple. It would seem that we have lost a lot in life
due to the thought of growing up and not realizing we left the most important part of our
life as we went into adul hood.
I thank you for this email and bring back Blessed Love and Happiness into my life.
Ronald
Thanks for the article. It helped me to see that I have some child-like qualities, after all. I feel encouraged to workonn developing even more child-like qualities
The story of a truck that got stuck trying to go under a bridge that was too low. All sorts of peoples were around attempting to figure out how to remove the truck from it’s dillema.
Engineers felt the bridge should be taken apart and raised with giant cranes. some thought it might be easier to just cut away part of the bridge and repair it later. Then a small boy wandered up to see what was going on and from a simple childlike mind said,”Why don’t you just let the air out of the tires?”Of all my trying to figure life out, I personally found this to be a great inspiration!
Thank you for Your article. It’s really opened my eyes. V ery inspiring. All the best.
Thanks you guys ……..love this article. I am a grandma and take care of my grandchildren and it is so much fun to get down and play like a kid….be happy…be joyful!!!!
A real inspiring article, keep it up.
Your article has a lot of wisdom. I am now a grandfather and can feel this real trust with may grand children. The best goal is treat to be like a child, without worries. Thank you for your reflection.
Thank you!!! you are Angels to remind me once again of how beautiful we all are.Because of the ‘programming’ it needs to be told over and over again cancelling out all the lies.
your work and selfless caring for Mankind is wonderful. Thankyou,Thankyou,Thankyou x
Who or what I really am has never changed. I have identified as this individual -this person but that is not who I am. A child is closer to who it truly is than an adult. So yes, become child-like but then go all the way to what you have always been. . . .”Be still (don’t think) and know I am God” and there is nothing but God – the SELF – the ONE.
Happy am i . in my deepth full Life reading I was said to be : In many ways YOU are an Eternal Child .
I am a professor but I learned and am learning a lot from my children especially from my youngest (5 years old). His trust, honesty, sincerity, love (self-love and love for others and the world), innocence, awe and wonder (‘aha’ attitude), eagerness to learn, adventurous, and non-judgemental are so magnanimous. If only all of us adults and so-called ‘learned’ and ‘educated’ will have the heart and eyes of such a child, this world will be a paradise.
Actually, as we grow older, we carry a lot of baggages (thoughts, ideas, feelings, needs, wants, etc.) which are not really necessary in traversing this life. Let us remember that we do not have the ‘luxury of time’ for all of these burdens. Most of the time, we, adults, are the ones making this ‘life’ complicated and then try to pass on to our children, thinking and believing that we are doing the right thing. Shame on us. Anyway, that was done to us when are growing into adulthood. Consciously or unconsciously, we are also passing this practice to our children. When will we ever realize that we are part of the destruction of humanity? We have created a lot of laws, rules, policies, even religions and ideologies, established moral guidelines, etc. that imprisoned our freedom to be happy and to be a genuine human person. I believe we can only realize these ‘loopholes of existence’ if we take time out and engage in real reflection. This has been emphasized by great philosophers from the ancient time (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, etc.) up to this contemporary era (Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, etc.). This has also been heightened by great religious people like Christ, Buddha, Gandhi, etc. But I’m afraid we have misinterpreted them or that our church leaders have misinterpreted it for us. Proper hermeneutics is really needed nowadays. The way to real happiness can only be done by the person himself and not to be dictated nor imposed by others especially the so-called authorities. I do not know if these authorities are really happy themselves… LET’S START MAKING THIS WORLD A HAPPY PLACE TO DWELL IN. LEARN FROM THE REAL TEACHERS: THE CHILDREN. APPLY ‘EPOCHE’ (bracketting our biases) and ‘METANOIA’ (change of heart and mind for the better). LET US BE THE PERSON WE WANT and OUGHT TO BE. DON’T ALLOW OTHERS TO DICTATE and IMPOSE ON YOU ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT CONVINCED. LET US ALL BE ‘BEINGS-IN-THE-WORLD’. MAY ALL OF US ENJOY AN ‘AUTHENTIC EXISTENCE’. REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE THE DRIVER OF YOUR DESTINY and HAPPINESS. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US IN OUR LIFE-JOURNEY. CARRY ON and MABUHAY! MALIGAYANG PAGLALAKBAY SA BUHAY!
Dear Henk,
Thanks a lot for this. This for me is indeed a reaffirmation of what I always thought of as the right way to live, but found myself in in abject minority as I was reminded time and time again by people about me that I needed to change this or that in myself in order to be acceptable to them. I never started out to become an oddball, but stayed firm on the course that at least I will abide in myself. So not opting to “grow up” somehow always felt refreshing. And, of late, some people have sat up and taken notice too. Makes me feel grateful to you for your help in the complete recovery of faith. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
dear henk
thanks for this wonderful piece of article.it made me felt more stronger to believe that however bad may prevail in this world goodness will remain and it will forever survive.
MY MIND ACCEPTED EVERYTHING THAT YOU SAID & THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN AS I ALWAYS HAVE QUESTIONS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
Wrap life in the same love ya came here with is the goal. Thats why there is fustrations in life.
Trying to hard to get it back. Just roll with it and play………..it will come!
You’ve the nail where was needed….on the head! Truly, to live in the present, like children, is what we, adults and grown ups (!), have forgotton and need to learn again!
Thank you for this wonderful piece of wisdom.
Thank’s for the wonderfull advice. You are blessed.
Hey Man, Thanks a lot for this pearl of knowledgement !!

Great advice, so true xx
Maybe it would be easier to be childlike if a person didn’t care about being called “retard” whenever they do something that people of their “age group” doesn’t do. Reputations like that are really hard to shake off even though most people miss so much by not slowing down and looking at the world differently.
It is often said, seek ye first the kingdom of God and every other thing will be added. In a nutshell this article on spiritual intelligence reveals to us what we need to reach this kingdom within us.I agree with you Henk and Nicholas that the qualities you mentioned in the article are the prices we need to pay to be happy not money nor fame. Thanks for the reawakening.Ekah
YES being a childlike makes you worriless — children didn’t know what problem is. They’re always in positive side. Always happy and active.
Kidding aside, when will maturity come?
Is the Universe changing? what about the horrible crimes? are we leaving the perpetrators out? How do we include them? LOVE???? Oh, just digressing.
interesting take on life. this explains why the world still seems to be run by mediocre minds. i hope we soon reach critical mass and overcome this insanity.
Thanks, you guys. Really lovely to read and hope filled.
Thank you so much.
A lot of GOOD feelings for you too. 🙂
Hi! This indeed is a very inspiring piece of work. You guys are doing a wonderful job in getting us to open our eyes and see the world from a new perspective. And isn’t it said that children are the best teachers!!! Great to become a child once again and see the world afresh!! Your books and articles are spiritually invigorating. Keep it up!!!
Ironic that we spend a lot of time while we are children learning how to “grow-up,” and it seems to me, as a grown up, that being a grown up is basically living in fear. Every grown up I know lives in fear about everything. Money, relationships, medical conditions, dying; fear, fear, fear.
I have 4 children and none of them are afraid of anything and they are the happiest people I know. They have come to be my teachers. All they know is to love unconditionally, do what they want to do, and have fun! They are all geniuses and I love them!
This is realy something, but don’t forget to serve the Universe and the one-ness.
absolutely incredible..
the most purest simplistic instruction for the most amazing life…for you..yes you..all of you
and you talk it to pieces on a blog…
DONT TALK IT…………………….WALK IT>>>>>>>>>>LIVE IT…………BE IT……
ps…and have a ball ……life is great when you actualy stop talking about it and live it…
in love…xxJ
Thank you for the enlightening article. To be childlike is to be who we really are. For those who have maintained this nature, congratulations and continue on. Those who have lost touch with their inner child, do not despair. Life has a way of peeling off the many layers of masks that has buried this reality in our subconscious. It may be painful initially, but later on it will be liberating.
We’re very fortunate that we live in a society that, because of the sacrifices of brave ancestors who were prepared to pay the price for not conforming, allows us the freedom to call life whatever we wish. That freedom has enabled some of us to realize that it is indeed a ride with a beginning, a long seeming bit in the middle and an end, War has shown us that human life as a commodity is cheap, so we’ve got nothing to lose by trying to overcome the negativity and having a ball while we’re here. As a christian I look forward to seeing what awaits me on the other side and I really should stop worrying about what happens down here in the meantime.
God bless you and yours.
Yes so there told you so ner ner ner ner ner big plops to everyone
hey
Great advice! I once had a “spiritual” encounter so to speak and this voice kept yelling to me “be as you were as a child”. That was during a terribly low period of my life and it helped me turn things around. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks. Keep shining brightly!
I just want to thank you guys for giving hope back to people. Without your E.mails the world would be a much sadder place. Long live Crack Your Egg!!!
This is a great time for me to read this article. It’s interesting that making choices that are in your best interest involves being childlike. Maybe many people make choices only involving their adult self and leave their child self out of the decision making process and this leads to disatisfaction for the whole person. Maybe making decisions based on the interests of adult and child looks irresponsible to some but leads to ultimate satisfaction and fulfillment.
Thanks for the article.
Yes i agree let everyone release the child within but times to be a responsible adult to having company where you can be yourself
This book rocks and it’s totally true.God made us to be Him and yes anything is possible.
A very interesting article.Keep it up.
Thanx – fantastic article from Henk again! thanx guys for reiterating the meaning of spiritual intelligence! life is a ride in which we all have and create our own choices as we go. that is, if we are smart enough to?
all the qualities you state as being ‘childlike” are in fact, Spiritually Human. If we take these qualities add them to our education with common sense then subtract the conditioned parts of our lives that we dont like or resonate with, we do ‘feel’ and ‘sense’ the spiritual intelligence that we want from and within ourselfs.
MATH: 1 pt child + 1 pt educated unbiased common sense + environment = present awareness/consciousness. if this fabric has frayed edges from wear(iness) then take the pinking shears and give them a trim to keep the appearance always fresh looking. the selvage edge of the fabric of our lives is the child within. we own the choice individually to either leave it unhemmed and natural as it will Never fray or we can let the natural color and texture be hemmed and hidden. the rest of the fabric can be cut and shaped to create it to be however we like it to be… as with any piece of fabric our lives can be torn, cut, have holes poked in it, stitched up or unpicked! no matter what, that selvage – the inner child, remains intact! no matter how long a selvage is left hemmed, once it is unhemmed it still holds the same shape it was the day it was created.
keep all your childlike qualities so your creativeness can grow! life is an adventure afterall and that is waht we are all here for! make the most of it!
It has been my experience that life is what you make of it . Without GOD or a hire power one will never know who is in charge especially if he or she ignore the Creator the true living GOD.
Sincerely
Miss. B.C. Biggins

Hello Henk
this is really great, I have read a lot of articles from you and I would like to give you a bit of Advice. Keep this up, this is whats its all about.
You always give people the Power of choice ,grant people Beingness and self Determinism.
This is High Quality stuff.
Many thanks and I wish more people would develop these Qualities this is how you can tell if people are doing it for the love of Mankind and not for the Money.
Michael
#41 got it dead on…being childlike is about looking at everything with wonder and mystery. We assume we know too much about everything whether its a person, place or thing. This creates limited beliefs, ignorance and biases that limit the experiences that you are attracting…and that is the purpose of life-experience. Those who can “let go” and trust the experiences they are attracting are truly living.
Thanks for a great article. Life is always so hectic that we do forget how wonderful it can be. When you see the world as a child does, it can change everything. Thanks for reminding us!!
It has been said that children have those traits because everything is new to them, so there is still mystery and wonderment.. When you know something or got it “figured out” then is ceases to be interesting. Example: Look at a tree, you can KNOW it’s a tree and that’s it or maybe you can say it’s beautiful and then that’s about it .. gets dull fast or look at it from a point of NOT KNOWING like is it green?, How it’s alive?, how many other creatures have an interdependent relationship..? etc. etc. it is endless and then mystery and wonderment return.
By KNOWING it is a tree it feels safe and familiar, but at what cost? What the F–k do we know anyway?
Some carpenter bloke a good while ago said that to get into heaven, just be like a little child. Glimpse of the Obvious really!! The Indian prince who gave up his lifestyle about 500 years before the above mentioned carpenter no doubt said a similar thing. Y’know, things like this will keep repeating themselves throughout history until humankind finally gets the message. Go watch a Boxer doggie frolic, and observe what childlike simplicity is, then GO PRACTICE!! Luv Ya All, Justin
Very good article. You guys always put out good stuff.
beautiful…
but how do we win over the parts of our self, something inner and hidden,
it just wouldn’tt listen what we want,it just changes every day bringing us
some new mood, some new weakness, suspicion etc. or the opposite for as
long enough so that we could feel the true truth and then again back into
the dark side where still nothing seems to be possible to change into better
by our own will..how to differ patience in thrust from slow failure within self-deceit,cause both
ca r r i e similar reality…
..
?
I am very grateful for your posts! I am focused on expanding my conscious awareness and becoming a very strong attractor, every time I read something like this and then better understand the deeper meaning (and yes the term “Spiritual Intelligence” makes perfect sense…) it helps confirm that which I am seeking and practicing is the absolute right thing to do! Thank you again!
Thanks!
An eye opener and reminder of real truth behind this chaotic worldy affairs.

Henk,
As always, lots of good stuff to think about and internalize.
When I was a freshman in college an older (wiser?) man told me that I was still too idealistic and that, that would pass in a couple of years. He further said that soon I would find how much of a struggle and how unfair the world was.
I’ll soon be turning 62 and I’m still idealistic. There are bad things in the world for sure but I find that if I keep my mind on the good the bad seldom bothers me very much.
Like Garth Brooks said a the height of his popularity: “If it all ends tomorrow, it;s been a hellava ride!”

I wish World Leaders and Politicians could follow these simple rules and pass it on to their fellow country men!
Wow! I read this at the perfect time of my ride. Thank you 😉
Yes, i have those qualities- i’ve had them all my life-and you would be surprised at the number of people who liked to beat, tease, insult and ridicule those qualities out of me under the banner of When Are You Gonna Grow Up. But at this late date it seems like I will never grow up. However I feel that I can be who I am now because people who know me always give me more leeway because they think I’m a little off the latch, a little off center. and that’s perfectly fine because it allows me to live a liitle more in my own world -my own universe and is that not what spiritual intelligence is about. Too bad i didn’t know this sooner, i wouldn’t have fought so hard to be accepted by the current reigning world and try to swallow it’s reality. I would have simply been myself and let the rest of the world go by. thanks,-phil
love the way this was put… just one question… how does someone remain in a state of “child-like wonder” when the world around him/her continues trying to remind him/her that the “ride of reality” (the bank balance/payments/chores that seem like drudgery, etc…) is right outside the door?… would like to see more info on this aspect of this topic… as i believe that this is the problem that many of us have with keeping our visualizations/dreams/aspirations at the forefront long enough to see them manifest.
thanks…
‘silence’ is the ‘practical-intelligence’ & for all times.
“Spiritual Intelligence” is it a part of “Multiple Intelligneces “of Gardner?
Thanks

We must discover the truth that we are at-one-ment with the universal mind( or God if want to be religious), if we want to get ultimate intelligence and to know reality.
Great advice indeed, thanks to your advice and your teachings I am living what you are saying. At first I was worried because I got laid off and I desperately needed to be working in order to spend Christmas with my family. But instead of succumbing to despair or jumping into desperate action and trading all my working hours for a lesser job which would have taken most of the 2 weeks time that I will be spending with my 15 year old son during the holidays, I decided to keep looking for what I want and to work on myself in the meanwhile; to work on trusting and having faith, and on enjoying every moment of my life… I am enjoying it! I live alone, and even though I am not working, I rarely feel lonely or bored, I am realizing that my life is in my hands and I feel that the hours of the day are not enough for me. I enjoy every minute, and even though I still have sporadic moments of fear, I have learned to bounce back very quickly because now I know better: I have myself, as a child of the universe, as my greatest asset… Now that I feel so happy, opportunities have started to surface and I know that I am on the threshold of greatness.
There is another aspect to being childlike that makes it such a powerful state to be in.
It’s called “Innocence”.
Look into the eyes of any child and you know that they have not yet been jaded by life.
They have no cynicism or malice. They do not have enough references to judge harshly. They have no grudges yet. They look at what they see and do not try to look behind the scenes trying to figure you out. They take life at face value. They don’t try to turn people or things into something complicated. They just enjoy what is right in front of them. And when they don’t enjoy it, they are honest enough to say so.
The simple pleasure of living in “this” moment. Being able to see the beauty of pretty
colors. Being able to laugh over and over at the same silly thing. Being vulnerable enough to become lost in a hug and letting it be enough to make the world right again.
The magic of being real. The power of simple honesty. To be able to be be amused, mistified, curious and awed by almost everything in life. What wonder that would be.
Is it possible to return to this? Is it possible to to slowly loose our anger? Our disgust? Our suspicions? Is it possible to live in this world and know what it’s like to be that kind of person again after it’s been gone from us for so long?
I believe it is.
I knew a young lady who after many years of hard life, took upon her a spiritual approach. And after enough time, felt that she had become somewhat naive to much of what had been common for her. She had a softness about her that was so very attractive that she had many friends who were very protective of her. She created a world full of blessings and love. She relearned to trust. She found it easy to laugh at the simple things. And even though she worked a full time job and navagated through the real world, she learned to love the child in her heart. And in time that child came out and began to play. She is still that way, and she is an inspiration to many.
It is possible to be childlike again. To be innocent again. To be full of life and enjoy every moment again. And this is because that child that you were is not gone. That child still lives in your heart. And if you pay enough attention to it, you will discover it’s secrets. You will gain it’s trust. You will remember that you are that child. And then you will see the world through the eyes of your wise child and the incredible lightness of being will be yours once again.
How do you get to this place in your heart and life? Through the doorway called love. And the key to that door is forgivness. Not just of others, but more of yourself. And trust is your power to stay and share your wise child with the world. What a blessing that would be.
Can you do it?
Will you?
Can’t Thank You enough! so inspiring and encouraging. Don’t let that light of your inner child dissapear……….Loads of Love to you guys 🙂 truly gratefull you are here and I’m in your newsletter……xxxx
Hi..
you are really doing a great job..
n let me tell U that ur articles, e-books .. hv all become a daily source of inspiration for me..
thanks 4 all the great work U r doing..
tk cr..
This is real gem, as I was reading it I was saying to myself how true it is… I am already seeing as I am doing these things, I guess I have to pump my actions of being Childlike. Many thanks
I have raised my children to believe that they are very special and that there will always be a special place for them in the world and that life will be great. I’ve told them that they are intelligent, creative and beautiful and to dream their dreams knowing that they will live them. And when they fall, they get back up and look at the beauty around and ahead, and when they go off-course, they eventually right themselves. Sometimes they need to come back to me and get a hug or sit on my lap (even my 20 year old) and have me remind them how very special they are.
And I am very special and there will always be a special place for me in this world and life is great. I am intelligent, creative and beautiful, and I’m excited about what the next half of my life on earth will be. I have pictures up to help show me what it will be and is. And when I forget that it’s true, I look outside to see what the sky is doing, what game the clouds and sun are playing. Or I notice what’s different about the trees today. Sometimes I take a look at the design of the stinkbug that made its way onto my wall and watch how it walks. More often than not, however, I remind myself by remembering how very special my children are.
And today I will finger-paint with my 2 year old.
one of my favorite movies is ” the little princess” starring shirley temple. if you haven’t seen it do. it is a wonderful example of the law of attraction and how staying child like the way you wrote in this article works. .
in a nutshell she had almost everything a little girl could want, she was placed in this “privileged ” school . she was happy and treated everyone like equals, from the little girl that scullery maid that waited hand and foot on everyone to the rich bit@# girl who thought she was everything . the little princess truly was a little princess, she was able to keep a firm hand on who she was and make sure everyone knew it. she was self assured not nasty , crude or cruel.
but then her dad went to war and was missing in action and presumed dead. immediately she lost her standing in the eyes of the school marm who took all of her worldly belongings and sold them to the highest bidder and was immediately sent to live in the dusty drafty attic along with the other scullery maid.
she was made to work and endure long hard arduous hours working for every one at the school.( kind of like us, working at something we’d rather not do) however, . she was amazing she never daunted, she remained fully attatched to the “fact” that her father was alive. she even imagined she would wake up in a palace, even though she lived in a dusty dirty drafty freezing attic with rag tag clothing, and hardly any food… ah !! but here is where you have to watch the movie to see why it is so important to remail child like just like the article says. love it..love it … love it. .. 🙂
I might say to Vaughan that YOU are the state of the world. And the more people who can see a beautiful world, the world of a child, the better a place it will be. And maybe if enough of us keep seeing the world without war, poverty, hate and fear, we can some day have just that for everyone. But in the mean time I need to go out and PLAY!!
Thank you
Did i say thank you?—-Thanx!
This is true as long as one does not let oneself becone despondant at the state of the world. As they say, too much knowledge & experience can pull one doen. The problem is that parents bring their children up to beleive they are very special, that there will always be a special place for then in the world & that life will be just fine. Tese are part of the great lie taught to cheldern, Isn’t it better to guide them on the path of truth rather than on of fantasy??
Just a thought.
Thanks for keeping in contact. From Vaughan
I’m dreaming now, of the most creative expression, a studio, with large windows, awash with light, and large canvases, that I am filling with bright tropical colors, music playing, live music, people playing music, while I am painting, movie cameras, video cameras rolling, people creating all around me, a sea of creativity, all in a sustainable Ekotecture building, that doesn’t consume or pollute. creativity is the key… creative expression abounds, love is in the air, we are filled with the joy of creation in waking moments, and when I sleep my dreams provide the fuel for my creations.
This is so true! Unfortunately, most people would rather remain childish than be childlike.
The childish people look at things as they are and throw their temper tantrums about everything they don’t like. The majority of the programs on talk radio are great examples of this, but I am sure that you can find many more examples in your work places, friendships, maybe even in your own home.
Those who choose to tap into their childlike nature are able to look at things and say “What if…?” and explore the opportunities that lay before them.
Thank you Henk for reminding us all to remain childlike.
be who are in the core of your being
is what you are saying…true then only can one be happy…congrats great article fc
Very similar to what the Course in Miracles says.
This is so true. It is very easy for us to lose sight of what life is really about.
Truly Great article ! When “one” can re-turn to the childlike innocense, trust, and playfulness of childhood, you can once again allow yourself to “daydream” and have fun once again using your imagination towards fulfillment of your potential. You can release the “wounds” and truly LIVE this day in the best way – innocent and free !!
It’s wonderful state of the being and conciously choice to be childlike- it’s just be who you are actua-lly and give welcome to the Life
Hi I like that, enjoy the ride of life.
We tend at times to take our lives
too seriously and miss out on
just enjoying the journey of our
Lives.
Extremely lucid and true insights !
Practice makes perfect ?
When i grow up, i wanna be like Henk.
This is practical truth, for our realities are created concsiously or unconciously by us.
very true , likened to what we have in uk on road a roundabout most people are afraid to take exit and just keep driving around it.
another similar illustration is the train ride , in getting off if going in wrong direction.!
Totally right!
Your definition of Spirtiual Intelligence is really up to the mark. It has cleared a big clutter in my mind about Spiritualism.
Your definition will be a topic of discussion with my friends this Sunday.
great pearls of wisdom
It would be rather nice and fun to be childlike, I agree and know all these sentiments, if only I can reignite them
Peace
John
Spiritual Intelligence – Discovering who you are – I like that.
